Katarina Anderson - BACP Registered Psychotherapist in Thames Ditton, Surrey

About Me

I am a BACP-registered psychotherapist supporting adults with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-worth, grief and loss, life changes, and the impact of earlier experiences.

My approach is relational and trauma-informed, which means I prioritise creating a safe, respectful and compassionate space where you feel heard and understood. I’m mindful of how past experiences may still be impacting you today, and we work gently and collaboratively, so you remain in control of the pace and the process.

I draw on a range of therapeutic modalities — including psychodynamic, person-centred, CBT, and mindfulness-based therapies — shaping our work so that it fits you. This might mean making space to explore your past, developing practical tools to manage anxiety in the present, or simply having somewhere to talk openly without judgement.

Training and Experience

Alongside my private practice, I work in counselling agency settings supporting adults and young adult in the local community.

  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Level 3 Award in Counselling Skills and Theory
  • Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I follow their Ethical Framework, which guides safe, ethical, and professional practice.

A Space Built on Safety and Curiosity

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, or relationship difficulties, or you might simply feel stuck or overwhelmed and want to understand yourself better.

Therapy can offer a chance to pause, reflect, and begin untangling what you’ve been carrying. It can help you move from surviving to truly living. Together, we can explore patterns that keep you stuck in over-responsibility, self-doubt, or burnout, and support you to set boundaries without guilt, say no without shame, and begin trusting your own voice again. I work alongside you at a pace that feels right, with steadiness and curiosity, as we make sense of things together.

"I believe therapy is more than just a place to vent; it is a chance to move from simply surviving to truly living."

"Therapy with me is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach. The work is tailored to your unique needs and circumstances."
